Jenny Rivera is a bilingual social work professional with over 5 years of experience working with children, families, and the geriatric population, providing thorough assessments of needs and coordination of services, with a particular skill in establishing rapport with diverse backgrounds.
In her current role as a School Adjustment Counselor with the Holyoke Public Schools, she assists in preparing social developmental histories on children with disabilities, provides group and individual counseling for students and families, and works in partnership with parents and others on problems in a student’s living situation (home, school, and community) that affect the student in school. Among her many responsibilities, Jenny mobilizes school and community resources to enable students to learn as effectively as possible in their educational program and assists in developing positive behavioral intervention strategies.
Prior to this position, Jenny worked as a Behavioral Health Clinician for Behavioral Health Network in the Medical Integration practice at Holyoke Health Center. She has worked with the elderly population as an Adult Foster Care Case Manager for WestMass Eldercare and as a Geriatric Support Services Coordinator for Greater Springfield Senior Services. Jenny is excited to be in the role of Program Facilitator for Families First. She enjoys working with families and understands the power parents have in shaping their children’s futures.
