“Both parents and children are stronger when supportive communities surround them. Families First helps build those communities for parents, and I am proud to be involved in that work.”
Arpan Barua joined the Families First team in November 2023 after graduating from Tufts University with a degree in Philosophy and Civic Studies. He has had previous experience working with and teaching children of all ages. Throughout his education and professional experience, he has remained most passionate about the potential for growth and social justice through community.
In college, Arpan was heavily involved in the political engagement of his university’s South Asian community. From this experience, he continues to be energized by opportunities to build stronger communities and hopes to take such energy to Families First. As a Bilingual Program Coordinator for the Greater Boston Area, Arpan embraces the chance to build communities of parents through the Power of Parenting program. Additionally, as a non-native Spanish speaker, he hopes to approach both English- and Spanish-speaking programs with the enthusiasm and cultural humility he has always carried.
