RELATED TOPICS: Your Curious Child; Parenting Styles; Talk, Sing, and Point
BENEFITS: Knowledge of body parts, language/communication skills
MATERIALS: Large sheet of paper or cardboard, markers or crayons
STEPS:
-
Ask your child to lie still on the paper while you trace the outline of their body.
-
While tracing, talk to your child or sing a song to make the process more fun.
-
After tracing their body, help them to identify which part is which, to color their body, or draw clothes on their body.
-
As your child gets older, let them draw you or parts of your body on a similar piece of paper.
-
Display your project someplace where you can continue to see and discuss it.
