Families First launches Family Ambassador Program
Families First is thrilled to announce the launch of our new pilot Family Ambassador Program in partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC).
On Monday, August 16, the EEC Family Ambassador Program commenced as representatives from 24 agencies across Massachusetts—along with EEC Commissioner Samantha Aigner-Treworgy—convened for a Program Launch Orientation.
The Family Ambassador program seeks to strengthen the family engagement capacity of early childhood programs and their family ambassadors in order to implement effective and inclusive practices/policies that directly impact families in their communities.
Through this program, Families First will partner with early childhood programs across the state to recruit 55-60 parents/caregivers and provide them with a series of leadership and advocacy trainings in English and Spanish. Following the trainings, parents/caregivers will complete community impact projects in partnership with select agencies.
As a result of the Family Ambassador program, parents/caregivers will more deeply engage in the community and systems that impact their children, helping to create a stronger early childhood ecosystem with families at the center.
We’re excited for the journey and will update our community of supporters as the program progresses!
