Collaborating with Hothouse Productions to Create “The Parenting Pathway” Video
In recent years, Families First has adapted its programs to better meet parents’ needs. We are a trusted source for parenting education and support, as well as parent leadership and family engagement. We needed our messaging to reflect the entirety of this parenting pathway.
Our previous video—often the first touchpoint for newcomers to discover who we are and what we do—primarily focused on our established Power of Parenting program.
For 2022, we needed a tool to show the full scope of Families First’s enhanced mission. And more importantly, how we do our work and its impact. The video needed to showcase the heartfelt and authentic experiences of our parents and parent leaders.
We teamed up with Boston University’s Hothouse Productions—an experiential learning opportunity for college students to work with real clients to create impactful material. Throughout the semester, the Hothouse students planned, produced, shot, and edited a video. They collaborated with and sought guidance from Families First at each step along the way.
Courtney Kramer, Families First’s Marketing & Communications Manager, who led the project, said:
“From the very start, I was impressed by the students on our Hothouse team. They quickly grasped the concept of our work and its importance in our communities. Moreover, they understood our voice, brand identity, and strengths-based philosophy and were able to bring our vision to reality despite the many challenges of living and providing programming through the many phases of COVID-19.”
We are proud to highlight our new video front and center on our website.
It serves as a great representation of our work and the agency that parents have to shape their children’s futures and make their communities stronger.
